DATS is a not-for-profit organisation which, in support of the Home Office National Workplace Initiative, has established a 'Employer's Assistance Scheme' and offers to provide businesses with a comprehensive bespoke support package. This enables businesses to successfully tackle drug and alcohol issues in their workplace.

Unfortunately, increasing statistics show that there is a very real cost to British Industry through substance misuse (both drugs and alcohol) resulting in absenteeism, accidents, damaged reputation, low productivity, legal costs, retraining etc.
Addressing substance misuse in the workplace, gives companies the opportunity to raise their profiles through demonstrating corporate social responsibility and encourages staff and potential customers to view them as 'caring employers'. Offering support and counselling for substance misuse, rather than instigating dismissal or punitive measures, is far more productive and effective.

Member companies range from smaller local companies through to the larger multi-national ones.
