Drug and Alcohol Testing in the Workplace

DATS do not provide a testing facility but will provide details of a variety of reputable and approved companies that do provide a professional Drug and Alcohol testing service. DATS give independent advice on the benefits and disadvantages of individual types of testing, including:
- Testing at initial selection interview
- Random testing
- Testing with cause
- Routine testing
- Testing prior to returning to work from treatment
DATS, along with the European and British Courts, believes that testing is a delicate and private matter for all concerned. There should be an agreed appropriate reason why workplace drug and alcohol testing should take place to mitigate and take into consideration possible infringement of personal liberty and stigma that may follow such workplace testing.
