Drug & Alcohol Training Services (DATS) arrange bespoke training to match the needs of any organisation. Our qualified trainers deliver bespoke drug and alcohol awareness training for the workplace and have a wealth of experience in a wide range of drug and alcohol related workplace issues. They have a proven record in supporting businesses and individuals.
Managerial and Supervisor Training
We provide training on all aspects of Drug and Alcohol related issues in the workplace from implementing a Workplace Drug and Alcohol Policy to training managers, supervisors and staff who may be affected directly or indirectly by these issues. Training can be focused specifically for:
- General staff
- Supervisors and middle managers
- Senior management
- Specialist Staff, e.g. Human Resources, Occupational Health
- Union representatives, etc
- Cascade Trainers
Although our training is uniquely designed, the general Aims and Objectives of a typical training session are:
Aims:
- To raise participants' awareness of drug and alcohol workplace related issues within the framework of your Ccmpany's Drug, Alcohol and Substance Misuse Policy.
Objectives:
- To make participants aware of how their Policy impacts on the workplace
- To introduce your Company's Drug, Alcohol and Substance Misuse Policy to directors, managers, supervisors and general staff
- To explore and challenge myths and attitudes that surround drug and alcohol use
- To increase knowledge, understanding and awareness of substances, their names, effects and dangers
- To enable participants to spot the signs and symptoms of drug use
- To make participants aware of their own responsibilities under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1971 and a range of other relevant legislation in respect to drugs and alcohol within the workplace
- To signpost clients and staff towards appropriate treatment and support services
We would suggest that training is always implemented to accompany the introduction of a Drug and Alcohol Policy within the workplace but we also provide stand-alone training which is specific to your needs.
Training is usually held in half or full day sessions.
